google maps LARPing



james montgomery sent this one over to me. sometimes the photographers that capture images for google maps end up taking pictures of some amazing shit. they caught a few LARPers (live action role playing) in the act in pittsburgh somewhere:

Oh, the SCA. My parents often regale my siblings and me with stories of their SCA days in the 'burgh. They're like the proto-LARPers.

That is wonderful. I am of the opinion that Google Street view is an enormously valuable document of social history. The most significant since the Domesday Book and this snippet of social history snapped for all time just proves this. This is a wonderful wonderful thing and will be so fantastic for future generations to discover
