One Way Or The Other

Hell hath no fury like a dude who's been waiting to release a movie for a handful of years but can't seem to get a studio behind him, but the Spike Jonze/Dave Eggers "Where The Wild Things Are" appears to be moving forward inch by inch. Spike's skateboard company, Girl, has announced limited edition skate decks, which also serve as our first real look at all the monsters who will fill up a good portion of the screen (if it comes out). I wonder if these decks were renegade moves by Spike to get some visuals and buzz back out there, or if the studio is finally letting some details and hope loose. Let's assume it's the latter so I can skate in peace.

How dandy! I had no idea that there was going to be a movie for this... goodness, all the books of my childhood are hitting the silver screen, aren't they?

maurice sendak is childhood love. did you ever read In The Night Kitchen? that book was WEIRD. anywho, i'm psyched for this movie, it looks gorgeous. this is going to be like, the labyrinth on crack. or at least, on more crack than david bowie was during the filming of labyrinth.
